We should all be looking for ways to reduce our carbon footprint, as we are in the middle of a rude awakening regarding the planet we live on and what human activity is doing to Mother Nature. Here are just a few ways that you can make a difference.
- Go on a recycling drive – This involves looking around the house for anything that can be recycled and the scrap metal buyers in Weston-Super-Mare are always happy to collect and pay you cash for your scrap, which will be recycled. Old digital devices, cars that don’t run and electrical wiring can all be recycled, as can domestic appliances.
- Take up cycling – Leaving the car in the garage and cycling to work would make a big difference and if we all did that, it would really help. You are also getting fitter when you ‘get on yer bike’, something we all need in this digital age.
- No single-use plastic – You should refuse any product that comes with a single use plastic bag; grocery shopping requires reusable green bags and after a while, it becomes second nature to take them with you when you leave to go to the supermarket. If the consumer refuses to deal with single-use plastic, businesses will act accordingly and make their packaging eco-friendly, so we, the consumer, must dictate the direction.
If you live a green life, there are probably a few ways that you can reduce your carbon footprint a little further and if we all follow this approach, the world will be a healthier place for all living things.
